“ Okay. By far the best xlb I've had in the area! So good that we went two days in a row with my family visiting. I think it's better than din tai fung and northern cafe which were my go tos before. It's filled with plenty of juice and comes steaming fresh. We especially enjoyed the classic and also liked the spicy and the crab. The shrimp was whatever. The cucumber salad is super refreshing and a great appetizer. Wonton with chili sauce was mid. Beef noodle soup was pretty good. And I'm not really a dessert person so the taro xlb (no soup inside) and custard buns were okay. Tasted better with added condensed milk. There can be a wait as the place isn't too big but everyone was friendly. The lady even held our baby for a little bit :D ”

“ A very well decorated Chinese restaurant in Tustin. Their menu spans from salads, to dumplings, bowls and hot pots. I always like having a variety of items available to try. To start off I got the Cucumber Salad and the Fries Dumplings. The salad was nicely pickled and had a good balance of sweet and spicy. I was looking forward to the dumplings but maybe it was just me but it felt like it needed a better sauce. The table side sauce was alright but something with sesame seed oil, soy sauce and spicy paste would've been amazing. As for the entrees I had the Gyu-Don and Golden Prime Beef Noodle Soup. A rice dish and a hot pot. I personally liked the Gyu Don better as it had a nice mix of fat, sweetness and savory flavor from the onions. The noodle soup was good as well, had a good spicy kick to it but lacked a slight bit of salt. Everything was good in quality and I did enjoy all the items in its own way. Service was attentive and added to the experience. ”

“ Decent dumplings but a very limited menu. The lack of menu items is not surprising as it's much easier for kitchens to keep stock but it's always such a disappointment on the customer side since I am limited to what I am able to order. For the steamed dumpling I only had the option or pork, shrimp, or some kinda fish I think. I was really craving some chicken dumplings and there were none. Service was good, music was definitely a little too loud, and overall I don't think I will come back unless I'm craving the spicy dumplings ”

“ Our friend recommended Seven Grams and we came here for lunch on a Monday, around noon. Place gets pretty busy, is clean, bright, with a loud, casual atmosphere. Tables with booth seating are placed pretty close together, where we sat which felt tight and crammed together. Table and counter seating in the middle of the restaurant have more space. Service was quick and attentive. The spicy pork paste over noodles was interesting and good. It comes with a bit of ground pork and I really liked the pickled red cabbage, kale, corn, and green onion that comes with it. The beef rolls were also really good. The pancake was light and crispy which allowed you to taste the ingredients in the inside without it tasting too heavy or thick. The beef was tender, sliced cucumbers, green onions and cilantro were fresh and added a nice crunch in every bite. The seven grams xiao long bao with pork was also good. The peach green tea is really good and refreshing. We ordered additional xiao long baos and steam dumplings to go for the family. ”

“ Came here around 2 pm and waited about 20 minutes before we were seated. Pan fried dumplings - the dumplings were crispy on the outside and juice on the inside. Beef roll - the beef roll was my favorite! The wrap was thin and crispy while the beef was soft and tender. The cucumbers added a nice crunch. However, the roll needed more sauce as it was a bit dry. Seven grams XLB - the soup was very flavorful. However, the top notch was very thick and doughy. Other than that, it was a good XLB. ”

“ This is my new go-to spot for XLB and beef wraps! Seven Grams is so much more affordable than other places in the area, and the service here is excellent. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu - my favorite things to order are the Seven Grams XLB, beef wrap, pan-fried dumplings, cucumber salad, and cold noodles with chili oil dressing. Everything comes out fresh, and the food is tasty and flavorful! There's usually a long line so I would recommend joining the Yelp waitlist ahead of time or coming at an off-time. ”

“ During peak time, there's usually a line waiting, but you can join yelp waitlist ahead of time. The interior is modern casual with some Chinese flair deco with a mix of bar stools, tables, and wall booth seating. Service is fast, and the menu price is great. However, the portion is smaller to account for the affordable pricing compared to other shops. We tried seven gram xiao long bao, (6 pieces) beef roll, and cold noodle with chili oil (not spicy). Food flavors are good, but the xiao long bao is a bit too sweet for me and definitely needs to pair with ginger and vinegar. Overall, it's a good experience dining here for quick meal that's friendly to the wallet. Better to come with more peeps to try various items as the portion is smaller, and you'll need to order more. ”

“ Hearing how this place offered a lot of the same dishes as Din Tai Fung but with more affordable prices, my family and I decided to check it out. We came in on a weekday night at around 6pm and it was around a 30 minute wait. Going inside, it was definitely a pretty bustling environment but wasn't too loud or disruptive. We ordered a bunch of items to try a little bit of everything, including the Seven Grams XLB, the Spicy XLB, Shrimp XLB, Crab XLB, the wonton with chili sauce, seafood fried rice, and the beef roll. For dessert, we got the taro xlb. We also got a hot jasmine green tea and peach yakult drink. The standouts were the seven grams XLB, the wonton with chili sauce, the fried rice, and the beef roll! I was a little worried that the beef roll would be too greasy, which I had read in other reviews, but it was perfectly fried and didn't taste greasy at all! The peach yakult drink was also unexpectedly really good! However, if you're looking for a slower, more relaxed dinner, this is not the place for you. After ordering, all our food came in at once, which kind of felt a little overwhelming. We also noticed that some of the XLBs had cooled down before we got to eat them because they were just sitting there, so that's one thing to take into account. Service is super efficient and nice, but it also feels like there's a small pressure for us to eat quickly and leave. Overall, this is a great place for a casual meal, and I'd definitely come back. ”
